Handheld Shower Head

Persons with dementia tend to be hypersensitive to flowing water from a wall-mounted showerhead. A strong spray of water onto the scalp or into the eyes and ears is one of the main causes of agitation when showering.

A handheld showerhead allows the person or the caregiver to direct the water away from the sensitive facial area.

Look for these important features: A soft, gentle spray, an on/off switch, a long 7-foot hose, and anti-scald control.
